Sunflowers in the Emerald area grown for oil

Welcome to District 201Q4 a proud part of Lions International containing over 70 Lions Clubs, nearly 20 Lioness Clubs & sadly only a couple of Leo Clubs. The size of this District means we have many different primary producers creating our strong economy.

From the tourism of the Sunshine Coast we wander north to the sugar cane fields of Maryborough, Childers, Gin Gin and the famous Bundaberg Rum products. Along the way you may want to stop off at beautiful Hervey Bay to see the magnificent Whales migrating. Further north to pineapples & the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Central Queensland. Rockhampton boasts the title of the Beef Capital and west from there you have the rich coal field belt and the crops of cotton & sunflower which are a glorious sight when in full flower.

In the nearby Gemfield area we mine the dazzling sapphires & further west Longreach claims the visitors heart with a visit to the famous Hall of Fame a testimony to the early pioneers of this vast wool producing region. Just a little further west you come to Winton the home of Waltzing Matilda. Lions in this marvelous District come from many walks of life but all share a passion for Lionism & warmly welcome visitors from other areas and show them a good time whilst visiting 201Q4.

Always mindful of the need to recruit new members to this wonderful Community service organization members of all our Clubs welcome enquiries from newcomers to this District and will make every effort to help you settle in our region of the beautiful Sunshine State.

Queensland has a strong mining industry with support of lions clubs in many areas
